What size should a form signature be?Open
A common Indian spec is 6 cm × 2 cm, black on white, 10–20 KB JPEG. PAN, OCI, and many exams use that window. Always match the form.
Will quality drop at 10–20 KB?Open
Ink is thresholded to black on white, then compressed. A sharp scan stays usable. A phone photo of a faded sign may need a darker threshold.
20 KB vs 40–50 KB?Open
Use 20 KB for PAN / most exams. Use the 40–50 KB preset when the portal allows it. Switch presets on this page.
Can you remove the paper background?Open
The ink cleanup turns pale paper to white and darkens the pen stroke. For a transparent PNG, use the background remover after.
Cropping?Open
